What we offer

Each GA Genealogy project is carefully researched and beautifully presented, whether as a wall-ready family tree chart, a richly written narrative history, or a targeted piece of bespoke research. Our work makes a lasting record for your family, and a genuinely thoughtful gift for any occasion.

Planning a trip to Scotland?

Are you travelling to Scotland and hoping to connect with your ancestral roots? GA Genealogy can research your Scottish family history ahead of your visit, providing insight into where your ancestors lived and worked, and suggesting places of genuine ancestral interest to include on your itinerary. It is a memorable way to make your trip personal.

Frequently asked questions

How far back can you trace my family history? Using Scottish Old Parish Records, census returns, civil registration records and a wide range of other historical documents, it is usually possible to trace a family line back to the early 19th century and sometimes considerably further.

Do you research Irish and English ancestry too? Yes. While Scottish ancestry is a particular specialism, GA Genealogy has over twenty years of experience researching family histories across the UK and Ireland, as well as further afield.

What if I have already tried and hit a brick wall? Brick walls are one of the most common frustrations in genealogy. GA Genealogy is experienced in finding alternative avenues, different record sets, variant name spellings, and related family lines to help break through where research has stalled.

Can your research be given as a gift? Absolutely. A family history or family tree chart makes a thoughtful and deeply personal gift for birthdays, anniversaries, milestone occasions, or simply as a record for future generations to treasure.

How do I get started? Simply get in touch via our contact page. GA Genealogy will discuss your goals and recommend the most suitable research approach for your needs and budget.

Testimonials

GA Genealogy Services have undertaken research for me into my family history over a two year period. Prior to that I had tried some of the more obvious ancestry research facilities on my own account with very limited success.

Within a few weeks GA were able to search historical records over the generations and to produce a clear, understandable, educational and entertaining family history. Following this we extended the research into other branches of the family tree.

I recommend this course of action to anyone interested in their family history and highly recommend G.A Genealogy for the scope of the research, their thoroughness and friendly and professional approach.
